True Fact
My very first book was called 'One-Footed' and was a cheeky rip off of one of my favourite books – The Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
Nowadays I’d be writing ‘fan fiction’ but since I’d never heard of that, I couldn’t help worrying that this was not very good practice. In fact I nearly threw the whole thing away. But then I had the brain wave of writing to the man himself. My absolute hero Douglas Adams.

Getting a letter from my favourite author was about as brilliant a moment as I could hope for. And to have him talk to me like I was a writer too – well that just about sealed the deal in my head. I was a writer.
